Elephants are some of the most magnificent land creatures roaming the planet, and their close bond with humans goes back thousands of years. Today, Asian elephants are endangered due to habitat shrinkage, poaching, and sadly a majority of the elephants living in Thailand are captured or bred for entertainment.
Recently, my family and I had the chance to visit Thailand's Wildlife Friends Foundation, an organization that works tirelessly to take in and rehabilitate injured elephants, bears, monkeys, and other animals rescued from the tourist industry. They provide medical care and hectares of land for the animals to roam free. In addition they have projects in forest conservation, public education, and legal campaigns to help exploited elephants.
The stories of these animals and the work that this organization is doing truly touched my heart. This is why a portion of the proceeds from Starmilk will be donated to WFFT.
